Sweet Treats in San Francisco

My husband and I recently headed out to San Francisco and Monterey for a little adventure. It was my first time in California and WOW! So beautiful and inspiring. I have found my self daydreaming about the amazing farmer’s markets, array of organic food options, and cioppino from Pantarei (thanks to the recommendation of Hilary from Estera Events).

Of course we had to test the sweets situation in San Fran. I am now absolutely obsessed with this candy/bake shop called Miette.

Are those cupcakes not the cutest things ever? We unfortunately didn’t have any room to try those, but we did have the hazelnut and raspberry macarons and they were exceptional. Wonderful macaron texture and great flavor as well.

We did make room for some cupcakes at Kara’s Cupcakes in Ghirardelli Square. Another adorable little shop – we wish we could go back and try every flavor! We went with the Meyer Lemon and Chocolate Chocolate. These are very good cupcakes, which is probably why they will be participating Cupcake Wars on the Food Network this year!
